The 13 countries of ASEAN+3 are home to 2.2 billion people, who together comprise one-third of  humanity. These distinct yet interlinked states are using the peace dividend of recent decades to re-establish their deep historical ties, which in turn is reshaping the global order today – with major implications for the future. Traveling throughout ASEAN+3, it is immediately obvious that the diverse peoples found in Southeast and East Asia have influenced each other for centuries. They have profoundly affected each other’s languages, cultures, religions, architecture and cuisines.
